Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Handleshare iOS app, operated by Francesco Bertocci LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Handleshare, you agree to them.

1. The service

Handleshare is a digital business card app. It lets you create profile cards with contact information, links, Wi-Fi details, and file attachments, and share them via QR codes, the iOS share sheet, email, and similar mechanisms.

The app is free to use, and free includes two profile cards. Everything else — sharing, QR and Wi-Fi codes, the paper-card scanner, and file attachments — is unlimited and not restricted by any plan. Handleshare Pro removes the two-card limit and is sold either as an auto-renewing subscription ($2.99 per month or $19.99 per year) or as a one-time purchase ($49). Prices are shown in your local currency at the point of purchase and may vary by region.

Subscriptions are billed to your Apple Account, renew automatically unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed or cancelled at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. The one-time Lifetime purchase does not renew. Anyone who downloaded HandleShare before version 3.0 keeps Pro at no charge.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Handleshare on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

3. Your content

Everything you put into Handleshare — your details, photos, links, Wi-Fi credentials, attachments — is yours. We claim no rights to it, and because it lives on your device and in your own private iCloud, we can't access it at all. You are solely responsible for what you add and for what you choose to share and with whom.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Handleshare to:

• share content that is unlawful, fraudulent, or infringes anyone's rights;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
• share Wi-Fi credentials for networks you are not authorized to share access to;
• distribute malicious files or links.

5. Sharing is at your own discretion

Handleshare transmits your card directly from your device to the people you share it with. Once shared, that information is in the recipient's hands — we cannot recall, revoke, or delete it for you. Share thoughtfully, especially Wi-Fi passwords and personal contact details.

6. Third-party services and links

Your card may contain links to third-party services (payment, booking, social networks). Those services are not ours; their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for them. Handleshare never accesses your accounts on those services.

7. iCloud

Syncing and backup rely on Apple's iCloud service and your Apple Account. Availability of sync is subject to Apple's terms and service status. We recommend keeping iCloud enabled so your cards are backed up; if you use the app without iCloud, your data exists only on your device.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Handleshare is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data (including QR codes and scanned contacts) will always be accurate or preserved.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Francesco Bertocci LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including loss of data, loss of business, or unauthorized access to networks whose credentials you shared — arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars.

10. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the app at any time. We may also revise these terms; the current version will always be posted on this page with its "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Francesco Bertocci LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
